Features
- Natural variations in solid wood and hand-applied finishes make each piece unique. Slight grain and finish irregularities as well as subtle differences in stain shades are signs that the furniture has been crafted from solid wood and are considered hallmarks of quality.
- Finely crafted using time-tested joinery and construction methods, lumber is selected, sanded and assembled by hand to ensure that all the joinery is clean, flush, and smooth to the touch.
- Multiple coats of silky smooth varnish is applied and sanded by hand to provide lasting protection that is resistant to stains, moisture rings, heat damage and abrasions.
- To preserve the beauty of the finish, simply clean the surface of the furniture with a soft damp cloth and then dry it thoroughly. Care over the years to come will not require oil, polishes, or cleaners.
- Swirls, knots and burls are some characteristics that contribute to the natural beauty of finely crafted hardwood furniture.
- Hardwoods oxidize, or change color, from exposure to direct light. The color of the wood will deepen over time and take on a warm glow and soft patina.
- The finish is GREENGUARD Certified for low chemical emissions.
- Finishes are formulated to meet Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) standards for successfully completing a rigorous battery of tests simulating years of typical household use.
- Silver Exemplary Membership Status by Sustainable Furnishings Council (SFC) for proven performance in meeting a range of specific sustainability measures.
- Lead times may vary depending on options chosen. Actual lead time will show after selection.
Description
A fusion of Arts & Crafts and Asian design, the Berkeley Bedroom is both sophisticated and practical. Crafted in solid cherry hardwood with American black walnut accents, the collection features a variety of cases and a low footboard bed designed for use with a mattress only. Space, style and function are the three main themes expressed in the Berkeley storage bed. The Berkeley storage bed is unique, in that the drawers are mounted six inches above the floor allowing for easier access than other storage beds. Natural variations in solid wood and hand-applied finishes make each piece unique. Slight grain and finish irregularities tell you that the furniture has been crafted from solid wood and are considered hallmarks of quality.
