They have shown no wear in the time I have owned them. However I did have to clean the Sunbrella fabric this summer because they were getting dirty spots onthem, kind of mildewy looking. It was quite a job to get them clean--lots of scrubbing! However, despite my vigorous scrubbing, they held up beautifully. I have them covered in the winter, or I bring them inside. I would highly recommend these chairs to anyone wanting a simple, modern, comfortable, high-quality deck or patio chair.
